Plain-language summary
When a client books a provider online through Qwoll, the provider pays Qwoll a facilitation fee, and the total the client sees is set so the provider still receives their price in full. This schedule holds the numbers: the rate, any change that has been scheduled, and how tax applies in each country. Bookings a provider enters themselves carry no fee.
01 · Platform Rate
The rate
- Platform Rate: 4.5% of the Provider's Price, exclusive of tax.
- Applies to: every Qwoll-Originated Booking, meaning a booking a client creates through the client portal, the Qwoll apps, a provider's public Qwoll page, or Qwoll's public search and listings, whether the client already knew the provider or found them through Qwoll.
- Qwoll Demand Bookings: the same rate, until a different rate is published here.
- Provider-Originated Bookings (a booking the provider enters themselves): no facilitation fee.
- Effective: 23 September 2026.
- Scheduled changes: none published.
The Platform Rate is an introductory rate. Qwoll expects to increase it over time. Every change is published here at least 14 days before it takes effect and is notified to providers by email and in the platform. A change applies only to bookings made on or after the date it takes effect; every booking keeps the rate in force when it was made.
02 · Tax on the fee, by country
Tax treatment
The facilitation fee is a supply by Qwoll to the provider. Whether tax applies to it depends on the country of the provider's account.
- Australia: GST applies at 10%. The facilitation fee includes it, and Qwoll's monthly tax invoice to the provider shows it.
- New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States and Canada: not yet published. Online booking is not made available to providers in these countries until the treatment for that country is published here.
03 · Payment processing
Card costs used in the calculation
The amount shown to the client as the facilitation fee is set so that, after Qwoll's facilitation fee and the payment provider's processing fees on the total are deducted, the provider receives their price in full. The processing cost used is the payment provider's standard domestic card rate for the provider's country, as published by the payment provider (Stripe). Where a client pays with a card that costs more to process, the client still pays the total shown and Qwoll bears the difference.
04 · Worked example
An Australian example
For a $95.00 service booked online by an Australian client with a domestic card, using a processing cost of 1.7% plus $0.30:
- Provider's Price: $95.00
- Facilitation fee to Qwoll: $4.70, including GST
- Card processing covered: $2.03
- Facilitation fee shown to the client: $6.73
- Total the client pays: $101.73
- The provider receives: $95.00
The figures are illustrative and rounded. The platform calculates each booking exactly and shows the total before the client confirms.
05 · Changes
How this schedule changes
Qwoll may change the Platform Rate under clause 6.18 of the Marketplace Provider Terms: the change is published here first, providers are notified at least 14 days before it takes effect, and a provider who does not accept a change may end their agreement before it takes effect. A change to the tax treatment for a country, or to the processing costs used in the calculation, is published here with its effective date.
